The Hudson Valley Pilot sat down with Parisi to talk about his service in the Dutchess County criminal justice system and his ideas for modifying some of the existing policies and procedures.

Twenty-five-year-old Sebastian Antonio Morataya Mendez has been sentenced to 25 years in prison and five years of post-release supervision for trying to kill his 17-year-old girlfriend with a rolling pin in April of last year. Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Major Crimes Bureau Chief Anthony Parisi was assigned the case on the day of the attack and carried it through to Wednesday’s sentencing.

Carlos Belton, 32, was sentenced to 41 years to life in prison by Dutchess County Court Judge Jessica Segal on Tuesday. The terms will run consecutively, according to Dutchess County District Attorney Bureau Chief Anthony Parisi, who prosecuted Belton.
