Meet Anthony

Anthony has spent his career dedicated to the service of the People of Dutchess County. He promises to make your safety his top priority.

Dutchess County born and bred

Anthony grew up in Millbrook, New York, with his three sisters and raised by parents John and Ann. Anthony attended Millbrook’s public schools, then studied at Fordham University. After graduation, Anthony attended Western New England Law School where he developed his commitment to public service.

Anthony now lives in Beekman with his wife, Sinead McLoughlin and their two daughters Seraphina and Giuliana.

The Right Choice

Anthony began his legal career in Dutchess County’s Public Defenders office, representing indigent clients. Three years later, he became an Assistant District Attorney. Subsequently, and for more than 25 years, Anthony Parisi has continued to serve in the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office where he is now the Major Crimes Bureau Chief.

A lifelong resident of Dutchess County, Anthony is committed to serving everyone equally: pursing justice for victims, keeping our communities safe, and working for a fairer criminal justice system. He’s dedicated his career to fighting gun violence, and preventing crime before it happens through intelligence-led policing and prosecution.

Parisi Family

The Right Time

The current District Attorney has been in the office 40 years and his father was the DA before him. For the first time in decades, voters can choose between a transformational candidate like Anthony Parisi or a ‘more of the same approach’ like his opponent.

There are no written policies or guidelines detailing the conduct of the District Attorney’s Office. Without meaningful, public policies, unchecked prosecutorial discretion can lead to unequal treatment, rogue prosecutors, confusion for victims and defendants, and the inability of our residents to understand and effectively question what’s happening in our justice system. Anthony will articulate the practices he expects attorneys in the Office to follow, ensuring crime victims are given access to critical services that help them rebuild their lives, that young people are held accountable in a way that protects future life-possibilities, and that people of color are treated fairly. Dutchess County residents deserve transparency from all elected officials – electing Anthony Parisi will finally bring clarity to our criminal justice system.

The Right Reason

“I firmly believe I’m the most well rounded and qualified candidate running to become District Attorney. Guided by principles of accountability, integrity, transparency, and justice, I know how to improve and modernize the way DA’s conduct business. It’s past time to rebuild trust between law enforcement and the communities we serve.” – Anthony Parisi

  • Start a conviction integrity unit that investigates fact-based wrongful conviction claims by defendants who were convicted of violent felony offenses and/or subject to sentencing inequities.
  • Create written policies and guidelines for the core functions of the District Attorney’s Office and make them available to the public.
  • Transform the DA’s office operations by finally going Digital.
  • Implement Intelligence Driven Prosecution (IDP) to reduce overall crime.
